The Ockershausen Family

I want to thank the Ockershausen family for allowing me to have a glimpse at life with three boys! There is so much energy in one late afternoon with this family. I am in awe of these parents and children. Their world is packed full of BIG fun and so much connection. The bond they have is palpable. The togetherness I witnessed between the parents and their children is inspiring. Their love for one another weaves a tightly knit bond.

Playing baseball, jumping on the trampoline, and blowing bubbles are a few of the countless activities the Ockershausen clan enjoies doing together. But the moments immortalized in their family film go beyond the activities. This family’s love language is deeply rooted in the present moment. The daily routines are drenched in physical expressions of love and playfulness. Perhaps, one moment that illustrates this best is when dad and the youngest son are swinging on the brilliantly blue and white colored hammock. What started out as a simple swing quickly morphed into a spontaneous game of peek-a-boo. With every open and close of the hammock “cocoon” surrounding his son, Dad is showered with joyous squeals of his son’s excitment! Going with the flow and following your bliss were the biggest take aways for me while filming this family for which I am deeply grateful.

Their playfulness is surrounded with moments of tenderness, deep listening, and one-on-one time between parent and child. Which honestly seems impossible in a family of five, but these parents make it happen! Generous doesn’t even begin to describe the hearts in this household! The environment that the parents cultivate for their children is inviting, joyful, and embodies the now.
